Mike Vick
This dog fighting story gets worse and worse. He donated $10K to Va Tech after the campus shootings, but bet $30K on dog fights? Where are this moron's freaking priorities? If I were an NFL owner, this is not the kind of guy I would want to win a Super Bowl with. The QB is the leader of the team. When you sign a $100 million contract, you are expected to become an upstanding member of that community. If you can't do that, go back to college and get a degree in another profession where you can earn $100 million dollars. Oops, thats right. there aren't a whole lot of those. Mike Vick is pissing away his privelege.

RE: Mike Vick
Ahh..and I see you wrote this in May. I just posted in another post that the investigators are back at his property. Of course, he knows nothing about anything. I think his team got short changed when they got him. I have seen him in interviews, etc and he just seems a little too pompous for my liking. I hope they nail him this time, but I doubt it. He and his legal team will find a way out I am sure.

RE: Mike Vick
Just an update:
Vick was indicted
will serve something like 8-10 months in jail
probably will get suspended for some time. but even if he isnt, no owner wants him on their team.

Hi,
How did you arrive at this sentence?
I had read that he could face up to 5 years although the plea bargain he recently entered may lighten his sentence considerably. I also read that the overseeing judge, Henry Hudson, is known for serving harsh penalties, so 8-10 months may be a little on the light side.
By the way, welcome to the forum

RE: Mike Vick
Even if he does two years behind bars, when he comes out he will still have few good years left to play.
I doubt he'll be back in Atlanta, but some other team will make good usage of him.

RE: Mike Vick
This entire ordeal is really sad.
Morally he did a bad thing but come on ,stop acting like he murdered a dozen people.
I have seen videos where cows are being shocked and slaughtered. In order for you to have meat on your plate, few animals had to be killed.
Why is it no one cares about that?

RE: Mike Vick
As a vegan, I think it's a little hypocritical for people to judge Vick so harshly. Why is it so wrong to have dogs fight each other, but it's not okay to eat animals, test dangerous cosmetics on them and all that. Factory farmed livestock probably suffer more in their lives than fighting dogs do.
