Anyone following the NHL playoffs?
It seems as though my team (Buffalo) is on the verge of being elimanated. I think it is impossible for them to comeback and win all four games. On the other side of things the Wings dominated their last game against the Ducks.

Well it looks like the Sabres are out. Go Mighty Ducks. I hate the red wings!

RE: Anyone following the NHL playoffs?
I would like to know what has happened to hockey ratings and revenue after the work stoppage and subsequent exile to OLN in the US. Hockey will always be strong in Canada, but I have not been able or willing to keep up with it for years now. There is just too much competition for my time. I'd rather watch football.

I follow hockey pretty closely. after the work stoppage fans has walked away. it is not the same as before. I still follow my team, but with a salary cap players change teams as much as i change my underwear. you can follow your favorite players anymore. they move to other teams to much.

I rarely watch Hockey nowadays, I used to just really watch it for the fights. But now with new rules, few fights break out. Hockey has been losing lots of fans over the years, not as much as before, sadly.

RE: Anyone following the NHL playoffs?
The fights were what was wrong with the NHL. Back in the old days, every player would fight, even if they're a star. But right before the lockout teams would have goons who only fight. That ruins hockey. Also, youth hockey is less popular. But most importantly, the NHL used to be much more exciting, with more fast breaks and odd-man rushes. Also the goalies are better now(=less goals=less popular). Now, with the trap-style play of many teams, the NFL is just not exciting.

Sports are not going to be the same anymore after hearing a lot about all the gambling and steroids that is going on. Fans have walked away. Today Rodney Harrison admit to using the roids. The integrity of the game is losted.
