Full Version: Jim Bates and the Bronco's Defense

Denver has had lots of trouble on defense the last couple of years. With Jim Bates as the defensive cordinator are they gonna be a better D-fense? He seem to be building the same d-fense that he built in Miami, but the question is gonna be, does he have the players for it.
I don't think he has enough right now. They need to pick up someone in free agency or make a trade.
I agree with mankind on this one. I think that Bates has it in him to make it work if he has the right players to work with during the season. The Broncos best bet is to do a little negotiating before the season opens. I am not sure if they will or not, but as a big fan, I would sure like to see them pick up a little more strength on defense.
It looks like the Broncos tried to get another Jason Taylor in the draft. they drafted the DE from Florida, but i don't believe he is the answer.
Bates is going to stick to the method he used in Miami.
He will use the defensive tackles to cover the middle and the defensive ends to pressure the quarterback.
