Roger Federer notched up his fifth consecutive Wimbledon title at the weekend and now surely ranks with the best of the modern greats of men's tennis. How do you think he compares with the likes of Borg and Sampras?
I will be honest and say that I don't know much about Federer. However, I guess 5 consecutive Wimbeldon titles might say a lot about his talent. I am rarely a tennis watcher and then only because I have family that watches it. You don't see many people in any sport win a lot of consecutive titles without being awesome at what they are doing. Once or twice might be a fluke, but more often is definitely talent.
Tough question and not sure there is much of an answer. I don't follow golf that much
Federer has been ranked No.1 in the world since early 2004, has 49 career titles and the accolades go on and on and on... and at 26 years old he is far from finished.
Over the last few years, I would say he has dominated men's tennis in a way that Woods dominated men's golf when at his peak.
However, they are both in the shadow of Ed Moses who was unbeaten for 10 years in the 400m hurdles, winning a consecutive 122 races. I think that is a level of domination that Federer and Woods can only dream about.
Yeah, he is clearly dominating the Tennis scene and really as a champion of any sport. At least Nadal is giving him a run. Personally, it is may too early to even compare with Pistol Pete. But I honestly though if Roddick got past Gasquet, that he had a shot of knocking him out in 5 sets. Too bad.

federer has it all going for him at the moment and with nadal injured things are even rosier for him. i think at present he's as good as borg was and he'll soon get past Pistol Pete's record too. the guy is consistent and a genius as well.
