Switch Pro Bowl to Mid Season?
So here's the situation. No one watches the Pro Bowl. Why? Because the Super Bowl is over. No one cares about anything after that. The Pro Bowl is totally anti-climactic.
I think the Pro Bowl should be moved to the middle of the season! What do you think? Would this work? Would the players take the risk? I think if they would, it would be a nice break from their regular games, have some fun, people would watch it to speculate for future games, they could still play "lightly" so as to not get hurt... I just think it would be way better.
I really wanted to see LT in the Super Bowl or Pro Bowl this year. He's one of my favorite players ever. I'm sick of people saying he's a wimp or a baby! All injuries are not created equal and just cuz someone else played with an injury doesn't mean LT should. Get off his back people!
I actually found these great videos about LT on YouTube with awesome clips of games as well as interviews with him, his teammates, etc. It's amazing how someone with his ability can still remain humble.

A lot of people say changing the Pro Bowl time wouldn't work for football because of the constant fear of injury. But how else could we make this exhibition game actually popular? Or is it just not worth the risk to the players to have any sort of exhibition game?

RE: Switch Pro Bowl to Mid Season?
Take the number of players who already don't bother to show up for the Pro Bowl now and mulitply that by 10, thats how many won't show if you move this game to mid-season. Any smart head coach wouldn't let his players play in a pointless game in the middle of a season, it makes no sense to risk injury like that.
The reason basketball and baseball can get away with this for one it's less physical and less chance of injury, but also because it's a much longer season and if they were to get injured they could still be back during the regular season. During football you have 16 games, and each and every game is important and needed to get you to the playoffs.
I don't think the Pro Bowl will ever be popular, with players or fans, but who cares? The NFL doesn't need to be on top of everything, they have the most watched sport so who cares if a meaningless game played for fun doesn't get much viewership. Just leave it the way it is, maybe tweak a couple rules about the game to make it better, I dunno.

RE: Switch Pro Bowl to Mid Season?
yeh i agree that the players wouldnt show up and all but i do think it would be a good change of pace for the players and for the fans. but theres no way they would have a game without meaning in the middle of their way to making the playoffs

RE: Switch Pro Bowl to Mid Season?
Yeah it's a great concept but it wouldn't work simply because of the injury factor and the fact that the pro-bowl doesn't count. Now if they had like some perks and stuff, then I could see it being more popular in general even
