Sad  What do you think of the NFL's ban on cheerleaders?

I find the NFL's ban on cheerleaders bizarre.
Let us be real, cheerleaders warming up and stretching, can not really distract players before the game.
I love the Miami girls!!

Doesn't the ban just extend to not having the cheerleaders "warming up" in front of the visiting teams?

I hadn't heard about this ban. I can understand if they just don't want the cheerleaders used to distract the opposing team (which is so often done in comedies). However, I think it would be bad to completely ban cheerleaders.

Either way it is just silly. Even if it is just a ban on them warming up in front of opposing teams, its laughable to think that actually can affect the outcome of a game. This is one of those situations that makes me scratch my head and wonder about the meetings that actually took place to discuss this issue. I mean, how could anyone even keep a straight face?

LoL - yes I can imagine it quite clearly. A dozen straight-faced executives sitting analyzing footage from the last 5 years of NFL cheerleading, reducing it to a series of check marks on a piece of paper... "2006, Week 5, Game 2... too much bush on show? Check!" and on...

I agree with your comments. It is nonsense. There are probably one or two slightly more important and influential issues the NFL should be considering (though, admittedly, probably a little less fun to face too.)
