First he wants to stay at UF, so he says no to UK and Memphis. Then, he says yes to Orlando. Now, he says no to Orlando and wants to stay at UF? This guy is screwing his NBA future. If he stays at UF, he might as well buy a cemetary plot in Gainesville because he wont be leaving that town ever.
He is giving up on a 5 yr contract worth 27 million! WOW! There is an insider that said that he didn't want to take the job to begin with, but other convinced him to take it and now he is going with his heart.
I heard EVERYONE told him to take it, even some officials at UF. The right move for him is to stay at Florida and build a lasting legacy. But he sure did put the screws to the Magic! Who do they turn to now, The Brothers Van Gundy? They aren't going to sell tickets, and tix sales is what O-town needs to keep the team from moving to Vegas.
Orlando is a great franchise at the moment. good young players and 13 million under the salary cap. they can get 1 great player or 2 good players with that kind of money.
But Orlando has a large "transient" population - people who only live there parttime. It is going to be difficult for them to hold on to this team unless they start winning now.
I think that is the same with miami heat. the win the championship and really no one goes to the game like the just won the championship. same goes to the atlanta braves. they win but no one goes to the games
